How enrollment works

  1. 01

    Get in touch

Call 614-865-4611 or email info@mslwv.org. Tell us your child's age and the days you need. We'll talk through what you're looking for and find a good time for you to visit. You can ask about openings for your child's age.

  2. 02

    Tour the room

Come see the classroom your child would join and meet the teachers who run it. You can watch how the room is set up and how the day moves. Ask about the HighScope Curriculum and how teachers plan activities. Then we'll talk about what comes next.

  3. 03

    Enroll and settle in

Complete enrollment and plan a first week that suits your child's routine. We'll talk through drop-off and pickup, and how you want to hear about the day. Then your child starts, and we adjust as we go.

What to have ready

Most families have enrollment forms filled out, a health form, and an up-to-date immunization record. Bring emergency contacts and the names of people allowed to pick up your child. If you're not sure what's needed, ask us and we'll walk you through it.

Pack a change of clothes for your child, labeled with their name. Add outdoor gear for the season and nap items if your child uses them. A comfort object from home can help, too.

Before the first day, decide who will drop off and who will pick up. Tell us how you want to hear about your child's day. We'll follow your lead on what works for your family.

The first weeks

The first days are shorter, so your child can get used to the room while you are still nearby. Bring a familiar object from home, like a small blanket or a favorite toy. A teacher will greet your child by name at the door. That greeting is the same every morning. It helps your child know what comes next.

At pickup, teachers tell you what your child did that day: what they played with, what they ate, how they napped. They share the small moments you missed. Most children settle into the routine within a few weeks. You can ask your child's teacher how the day went, and they will give you a clear picture.

What families ask

What about tuition?

Ask about current rates when you call or tour. They depend on your child's age and schedule.

What ages do you take?

Children from From Infants to Pre-K.

Can we visit before deciding?

Yes, a tour is the best way to see how the rooms are set up and how teachers talk with children. Your child can come along and spend time in the room while you ask questions.

What should my child bring on the first day?

Pack a change of clothes, a comfort object, and outdoor gear for the season. Label everything with your child's name. Ask us if you're unsure what your child will need.

How do you handle the first weeks?

The first days often start with shorter visits and a familiar object from home. Teachers greet your child by name and help them join the routine. At pickup, they tell you how your child ate, rested, and played.

What does a typical day include?

A day is built around arrival, play and learning, meals and rest, outdoor time, and pickup. Our teachers use the HighScope Curriculum to balance play and learning in daily lessons and activity plans. Ask us for the schedule for your child's age group.

How will I know how my child is doing?

Teachers talk with you at pickup about how your child's day went. You can ask questions any time. If you want updates another way, tell us and we'll find what works.

Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?

Schedules depend on your child's age group and what openings we have. Call or email us to ask what's available for the days you need.

What if there is no place right now?

If we don't have a place right now, you can ask to be told when one opens for your child's age. We'll keep your information and reach out.
